Bz panel 07-04-13Bizarro is brought to you today by the Mullerm (mullet/perm combo).

bz strip 07-04-13Here in the United States, we are celebrating the day that our Declaration of Independence from British rule was signed. I sincerely hope that my British readers will not be offended. It wasn’t that we didn’t like you or thought you were, it’s just that this country has always been a magnet for yahoos and wackjobs and you’d just really have to be out of your mind to try to rule us, especially from a few thousand miles away. So it wasn’t you, we’d have done the same thing even if cuddly teddy bears and unicorns that pooped gold were in charge.

All of that has nothing to do with this cartoon by my guest cartoonist and good friend, J.C. Duffy. For more of his dazzlingly sparkly work, visit his blog-a-ma-bob here.

P.S. As promised, here’s an old cartoon of mine that a reader has requested seeing again. bz panel 09-15-05 cyclops

  1. Ha! Ha! Dont worry about your limey buddies …the “colonial yahoos” kicked them up north

where they proceeded to fuck up Canada…(it was “Canada Day” Monday, by the way!)

  2. Perhaps you need to know that someone is paying attention to your posts today, when we are all free to do something else. Actually, I’m just taking a break from Independent Studies (of country music), but I hope a quick trip to your post via FB counts, if you are experiencing a bit too much independence . . .

  3. Sorry, but J. C. Duffy’s cartoons this week don’t compare to yours. And the July 4 cartoon, in addition to be singularly not funny, contains the standard hieroglyphics that represent curse words. Is this what we want any youngsters who like your excellent panels to be seeing, or asking their parents about? Kids are already potty-mouthed 10 times more than when we were their age. They don’t need encouragement from a respected cartoonist.

    • Thanks for your comments, Bob. I’m sorry you’re not enjoying Duffy’s cartoons but to each his own. Regarding the cartoon curse words, they have been a comics standard for more than half a century and society has not crumbled into complete chaos yet, so I think we’re safe. :o)
