My, how time flies. Here it is today already and just 24 hours ago it was yesterday. Will it ever end? So far, it hasn’t, and that is the point of this cartoon. Eternity is a notoriously difficult concept for the human mind to grasp from inside our tiny fishbowl lives, but I find it very helpful to contemplate. (more…)

Music To My Ears

PiraroAlbumCoverSMwebLike most arty types, I have a variety of interests. I’ve always enjoyed writing, oil painting, sculpture, cartoons, and I also write music. For the first time ever, I’ve posted some professional recordings of some of my songs. I sing and play rhythm guitar on the album, my good buddy, Tiny Tony T. Smith plays “fancy” guitar and did all the recording and mixing. You can have the whole EP for $3.96 on iTunes, Amazon, and some other places that sell music. Or, you can stream it on Spotify and those kinds of places. I assume I’ll never make any real money from these efforts, but artists like to share their work so here they are. Books Death Nicety

It is sad that online bookstores have nearly completely run small, independently owned bookstores out of business. It is sad, but is the way of the world and not much can be done about it. I encourage people to buy my books from bookstores, but most do not. It’s just too damned easy to buy them online and have them show up in your mailbox. I wonder if there will be a day when there are no stores left open, other than clothing stores where you need to know exactly how something fits before you buy it. But I’ve even bought eyeglasses online, although I think I may have measured the distance between my eyes wrong. I have to cross my eyes to get the vision exactly right, or hold the glasses a few inches from my face. Serves me right for trying to save a few bucks. (Sigh) (more…)
