Political correctness can be tiresome, to be certain. But in the end, it is nothing more than people in a society asking each other to be kind to others and make this a more pleasant world to live in. I find it fascinating that a barefooted person wearing pajamas can beat the crap out of someone with a baseball bat, wearing protective gear and ass-kicking boots. Or at least, that’s how it happens in the movies.This coffee gag is one that has doubtless been thought of a million times and I did a version of it way back in the early 90s myself. I conceived of this cartoon back in my first year of syndication in 1985 when I was just a child cartoonist, but the drawing was perfectly awful. (OMG, look how ugly it was!) I’d forgotten all about it until I came across it again recently but I liked the concept so much that I decided to draw and publish it again. My buddy, Andy Cowan, (former writer for TV shows like Seinfeld, Third Rock From the Sun, and Cheers) and I got to riffing recently on restroom signs and came up with a gob of them. I culled the best of the batch and made this comic for you, which I hope will make you smile. I’ve done a few restroom sign cartoons before.
