Gator Snack

March 25, 2013

Bizarro is brought to you today by Half-Eaten Dogs.

Do you like alligators? Of course you do, who doesn’t? They make excellent house pets, especially for the very young. Sometimes a toddler can be hard on a puppy or kitten but alligators are almost indestructible. And if you live near a swamp, you can get one for free.

If this cartoon makes no sense to you, let me say that “my dog ate my homework” is an old cliche used by stupid children who cannot finish their homework but have no problem with lying to authority figures.

I’d like to use this little chat to remind you to go to my Bizarro Facebook page and “like” it at the top. You may also like individual posts if you wish, but please don’t forget to hit the “like” button at the top so it will make it look like I have lots of readers. Since I don’t have a traditional job, this could help me when applying for a loan or asking for leniency before a judge. Thanks, Jazz Pickles. http://www.facebook.com/bizarrocomics

That happened at the University of Florida all the time. The professors always looked skeptical (like your teacher in the panel), but they knew the probability of it actually happening there was provably higher than at other places.

I must now confess that the recurring “piece of pie” icon has ALWAYS been perceived by me as “smiling gator head”. Even now, after learning in your blog that it is intended to be seen as “pie”, I still see “gator”! Now that I have pointed this out, hordes of your readers will begin to see gators, too, instead of pie. Don’t you see what you are doing to skew people’s perceptions of the world?!

Oddly enough, you are not the only person to have told me that. The first time I heard from someone who thought it was a ‘gator head, I thought he was crazy. But since then, I’ve heard from a dozen-or-so others who saw it that way. Just one of those things, I guess. :o)

It must be a symptom of flaming optimism… We see the world like anyone else, but wherever possible, we also see it smiling at us!

Now, I see the pie as a Smiling Gator Head, too. Even worse, I see a maniacal ALIEN Smiling Gator Head! Damn you, Sweney.

And you’ll need a new tongue if you don’t stop licking your monitor.
