Bizarro is made possible today by Dream Machines.
I’ve been remiss in my blog-posting duties this week and am now two full days behind. I have brought shame to my entire village. Tonight I will be dragged out into the town square and covered with chocolate. Then they release the fat ladies. If I do not survive, please tell Klamelda that I love her.
In the meantime, please enjoy this burrito cartoon responsibly. (Don’t read it while driving or operating heavy machinery, unless you’re not a single-digit-I.Q. moron, in which case you can likely do both fairly safely.)
BIZARRO BOOMERANG: This little grape from the fruit basket of 2005 is a kooky little lampoon of game shows. The contestants named “Doug” and “Jenny” are friends of mine and the founders of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. I’ve not seen them since I left New York almost two years ago and I miss them. If you have an extra few bucks you want to make sure are doing their part to help animals in need, considering throwing it their way, Jazz Pickles.
I love your blog as much as I love your cartoons. I wish Gary Larson would have done this,, or Charles Addams, or Gahan Wilson, or even Virgil Partch. The blog gives a little bit of insight into the creator of the work. I appreciate that
Thanks so much, Don. The reason those other guys never did anything like this is because they weren’t clever or funny in person. (Kidding) I agree that it would be cool to hear the daily thoughts of favorite cartoonists. I’ve met Gahan Wilson and he’s weird as hell (as well as being a terrifically nice fellow) and a daily blog like this by him would be a treasure. I’ve met Gary Larson, too, but he’s so reserved that it is no wonder he doesn’t do a blog.
What he said!
the “you bet your life” is a redo of another one you did in 1997. the contestants were “murph”, “gina” and “bob”! I have the original hanging in my house, thanks to you! love it!
Wow. I don’t remember reusing that one. I do that on rare occasion if I think a gag is still great after x-number of years.
I believe you’ve shared a sexy fantasy of yours with your readers in your blog today (being covered in chocolate amidst hungry women?!). And I thought this was a family friendly site here …
Great name: “Bizarro Boomerang”! — And excellently picked in more than one way, taking Brad’s remark in account. But what the heck! Why not do remakes of really great ones (Hollywood is doing it all of the time)! I’ve seen a whole lot by you that most people never will get to see because they have missed it way back then. (Some of the Hollywood remakes I could do without, though … )
If I were a fat lady, I’d start by nibbling on the ears _ a la Easter Chocolate Bunny! (lol)
; D
You can nibble on my ears anytime, RWB. But no biting.
In my family, ladies and chocolate are very friendly.
you’re just awesome! always love your work!!
Thank you, sir.
love the jenny and doug characters! And they are characters… we all miss you on the east coast. Today I am in San Fran. If you ever do a Burning Man cartoon I give you permission to use my likeness.
Great to hear from you Derek. I miss all of you Woodstockians, too!
Klamelda is a lucky woman. Doesn’t she like chocolate?
Yes, she likes chocolate as long as it has something like chipotle peppers in it to burn her mouth and sinuses. Come to think of it, almost everything Klamelda eats has enough gunpowder in it to blow your head off. She’s a spicy gal, for sure!
