Reanimation
Good week to you, Pickles of Jazz! I often say I hope you’re having a good week, but today I hope life continues to pose interesting challenges to you that expand your inner bigness. That’s certainly been the case here at Rancho Bizarro lately, where Olive Oyl and I continue to search the edges of the weirdiverse, open to whatever might decide to pop its head into this dimension to say hi. It’s not always easy, but it’s certainly beneficial and we recommend it to all our closest friends.
Another thing we only share with close friends is our personal collection of Bizarro Secret Symbol stickers to which WE HAVE ADDED NEW DESIGNS!
If you click that link, you can grab a few packs for yourself at prices so low, you’ll feel like you’re shoplifting. And if you order them now, you might be able to get them before that holiday that, according to a handful of very gullible Americans, open-minded Americans are at war against. (If you go there and don’t see prices on anything, that means you’re not a close friend. Sorry.)
Are you a person who needs a cool website? Trust me, you do. And you’re in luck—I know a guy. His name is Dennis and he built the super cool new website for my graphic novel, Peyote Cowboy. He doesn’t like to brag, but he also did Spinal Tap’s original website and is currently doing their new one. (He let me see a preview of it and it’s awesome!)
Speaking of Peyote Cowboy—the graphic novel I’ve been posting serially each Tuesday—I’m afraid I’m going to have to start posting every-other Tuesday. Yeah, I know that kind of sucks, but with the level of complexity of the art, a full, cohesive episode each week is becoming too much to illustrate. Simplifying the art isn’t an option, of course, so I’ll be posting every two weeks. (Sign up for email alerts when I post a new episode here.)
And finally, here’s a fun diversion I discovered recently. It’s well-written, concise, amusing, and good-hearted. Sign up for these guys’ email newsletter and give yourself a smile. Toss them a buck or two, and give someone else a smile.
Now, let’s find out what tasty humor snacks Wayno has put in our cartoon lunchboxes this week…
What I love about mallowdramas is that the fire is both the hero (Yaaaay!) and the villain (Boooo!).
Who are these guys who bring a second to their rock/paper/scissors duels?
Don’t miss the name of the snacks he’s eating. He puts away his weight in those daily.
Hey, is anyone watching The Boys on Amazon Prime? It is not AT ALL the kind of series I normally watch but a writer friend of mine recommended it and halfway through the first episode, I was hooked. The concept and the first season are brilliant. I’m just starting the second season, so I can’t vouch for how well it holds up. SUCH a great idea for a superhero series! Damn.
Hey I’m no fan of courtroom artists. They always make you look older than you are or more bald. Am I right?!
Have you noticed that Wayno hides the symbols better than I usually do? I’m really enjoying the places he invents. We’re adding a new symbol at the beginning of the year and would love to hear your ideas about what it should be. We’re getting lots of suggestions regarding COVID, of course, and also feces as it pertains to the overall quality of 2020, but it won’t be along either of those lines. We agree it was a rough year so we don’t want to immortalize it with an official symbol. Instead, we’re going to go a bit more surreal with it. That could be considered a clue.
Wayno’s blog post this week has a few really fun extras that made me laugh out loud. I totally love the old marshmallow logo he shows and I am still chuckling over what he has to say about it.
That signals the end of our comedy camping trip this week, Jazz Pickles. Thanks for helping us get the canoe back on the roof of the Jeep. If you’re enjoying what we do and that we don’t charge you for it or make you dodge ads, please consider supporting us via one of the links below. We’ll be much obliged.
Until next time, don’t believe everything you think.
