I hate to think it but there may be people not familiar with the pop-culture reference in the cartoon above. If that describes you, look up “lone ranger tropes,” then come back and laugh. If you’re among those who refuse to wear a mask under any circumstance, you may want to skip the laughing part because it could lead to coughing.

A couple of important announcements today, Jazz Pickles:

The new website for Peyote Cowboy, my graphic novel, will launch in a matter of days. This week. I promise. For real this time. I’m thinking Tuesday. I’ll send out an email announcing it and telling readers what they need to know to get there and have a big ol’ canyon full of fun. If you’re not on my Bizarro email list and would like to be, sign up at the bottom of any page on this site. Peyote Cowboy will be free to read online, no sign-in or obligation required. That’s just how we ride here at Rancho Bizarro, buckaroos.

My next announcement is about our Bizarro Shop—we’ve decided to torch it and collect the insurance money!

Not really, but we are discontinuing everything that is currently in the shop. All of it will be gone on October 1, replaced by some new stuff we’re going to do. (More on that later! No, it’s not Peyote Cowboy stuff.) So…everything now for sale in our shop will be gone on October 1. We MAY have a few more enamel pins left after that but we’re not ordering any more of those so that makes the ones that exist now major collector’s items. If you’ve already got yours, congratulations!

And congratulations to Wayno for completing another week of amusement and mayhem in the form of the week’s Bizarro cartoons. Let’s take a look…

“I knew I’d hit bottom when I woke up in a Sony Walkman in a landfill.”

I suppose that makes him polyamorous as well.

Wayno continues to find new ways to use clowns in humor. Which is more than I can say for a lot of real-life clowns. (Not all, of course! Not YOU, clown reader!)

Over on his weekly blog post, Wayno’s got some interesting things to say about his music and comic book obsessions as a kid. He also includes an awesome cover from ZAP! comics and several other extras this week. Don’t miss it!

I have nothing clever to say about this one, just that I really love it. Makes me chuckle.

Both Wayno and I enjoy packing backgrounds with oddball visuals and sight gags and there are several to be enjoyed in this one. Also, A Confederacy of Dunces happens to be a favorite book of both of ours, so Wayno knew I’d love this version of it.

That concludes this episode of A Collaboration of Dunces. Wayno and I thank you for coming along to chaperone. If you enjoy what we do and that we do it here for free, please consider one of the fun things under the links below. Any little bit helps to keep us off the streets and in the cartoon studio.

Until next time, be wise, be kind, and be the person you wish you were.
