Crash Taste Dummies

I’m feeling a little down on myself at the moment because I missed an opportunity to make the above cartoon notably funnier. If you want to guess what that is, I’ll give you a hint: it’s in the title of this post.

I should have titled the cartoon, CRASH TASTE DUMMIES. It’s perfect and I didn’t think of it! Damn!

Thanks to Bizarro Jazz Pickle 27B63991 (Dan Buchalter) for sending that suggestion to me via email this morning. (My apologies for appropriating it for this post without asking you first, Mr. Bulchalter, and DAMN YOU for thinking of that instead of me!)

Next topic: If you’ve enjoyed the stuff I posted recently about my art process you might enjoy Wayno’s blog post this week. He shows the blue/red/black sketch of one of his coolest images from the week and explains his process a bit. You art wonks will love it. Additionally, his weekly pipe pic is laugh-out-loud funny this week if you read the description that goes with it.

Lastly this week, I have a movie recommendation. No, not a recommendation, a commandment. See Fantastic Fungi on Netflix. I’m sorry if you’re not able to get Netflix, I always hate it when people recommend something on a network I don’t have. Regardless, this is a terrific film about an enormous group of unbelievable creatures. Watch the movie this week and then next week, I’ll hold forth on how I think it plays into last week’s post about the Realm of Opposites.

Note: If you think humans are the dominant species on Earth and you don’t handle disappointment well, perhaps you should watch this film alone.

As an excellent short feature before the film, let us now view Wayno’s Bizarro cartoons from the week…

Some cartoons give you the option of laughing or crying.

I assure you that those awards behind him are fake or stolen. We would never award the Pipe of Ambiguity or the K2 Achievement Award to a lout like this.

I’ve often wondered why an animal that covers its body in its own saliva then swallows and vomits the resulting balls of fur and filth is considered “clean”. (Cue cat defenders.)

I love that Wayno can find so many ways to combine clowns with humor, which is not always the case in the real world.

I’ve dished a lot about the unfunniness of clowns but to be fair, famous clowns are often quite hilarious and artful. Those ones that roam the audiences before Cirque de Soleil shows come to mind. It’s the local, shopping mall, birthday party, amateur or semi-pro clowns that give the art form a bad name. Those kinds of clowns are sort of the karaoke of humor; anyone can do it but you might need to be real drunk to tolerate it for long.

OMG, one of these days I’m going to riff about fractals in my blog post. If you want to get ready for that, watch this first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56gzV0od6DU

This one still makes me chuckle.

That’s the last snip of this week’s comedy hairdo, Jazz Pickles. Thanks for sticking around until we removed the apron. Our cartoons and comments are always free here, without ads or clickbait bullshit, but gratuities are gratefully accepted so we can keep it that way. See the links below for various ways to support us.

Until next time, remember that time is an illusion so terms like “next time” are virtually meaningless.
